Granite
Granite, known as one of the oldest building materials on earth, has been quarried since 4,000 B.C. There are many varieties of granite that differ in color, texture and striking crystalline structure. The unique grain flow, color blends, heat resistance and non-absorbent stain resistance of the surface make granite ideal for counter tops, which require minimal maintenance.
Marble
Marble is both decorative and rugged; each piece is a natural one-of-a-kind. It is best suited for furniture tops, desks, table, floors, lavatories, fireplaces and various uses in both residential and commercial applications.
Limestone
Limestone is a beautiful, heat resistant countertop material. It is lighter and usually will have fossils in it showing its natural origins. It is more porous and softer than granite but with proper care it can make for a gorgeous application of stone.
Soapstone
Soapstone is primarily made of talc resulting in a softer material. It is nonporous and resistant to heat, acid and alkalis. Many people like soapstone for kitchens due to the soft feel of the tops and classic appeal.
Quartz
Quartz is man-made material made by combining ground natural stone with resin, polymers and pigments. It forms a very hard surface and is most suitable for counter tops. Quartz offers the homeowner, architect and designer a consistency of color and pattern not usually found in natural products.
